Lfiber’s singlemode wideband directional coupler (980nm, 1310nm, 1550nm, C band, L band, C+L Band) which based on a fused-fiber design is highly directional. Signals travel in one direction only. When light is injected into an input (output) port, very little light is scattered back to other input (output) ports. This wideband directional coupler is Telcordia GR-1221/GR-1209 and RoHS compliant. It works well even in the outdoor application or harsh environment. Related Products

Singlemode Wideband Directional Coupler (Fused Fiber Splitter/Combiner)

The most common coupler (fiber splitter/combiner) has a single input and equal distribution of power among each of two outputs. Adding a fourth port, creates a 2 × 2 directional coupler. It splits an input optical signal into two output fibers and the signal is isolated from the fourth. By proper component design, the coupling ratio can vary from 1% or less (a so-called tap coupler) to 50%.

Singlemode Fiber Wideband Bidirectional coupler (Beam Splitter/Combiner)

The bidirectional coupler is a fiber coupler that operates in both directions and function in the same way in both directions. A 2 × 2 fiber coupler with a split ratio 0.5 is often called a 3-dB coupler, for the input signal is split in half between the two output ports. As a result, the signals from both output ports are combinations of the two input signals. Because the input and output ends are identical, each port can be either an input end or an output end, and hence these 3-dB couplers are also referred to as bidirectional couplers.

Directional and Bidirectional Singlemode Wideband Coupler (980nm, 1310nm, 1550nm, C band, L band, or C+L Band)

Applications of Lfiber’s wideband directional coupler include power distribution in local area networks (LANs), Fiber to the Home (FTTH) networks, CATV networks, and other places where simultaneous optical signal transmission and reception are required.
